Brainstorm March 26, 2020 by Erin Mooney Leave a Comment For this brainstorm I focused mainly on mental health and the importance of being calm and positive in such a stressful and scary time. Something that bothers me is the feeling that I constantly need to be up-to-date with everyone’s lives and always answering my phone. I made sure to brainstorm activities that help me ignore that urge along with reminders that it really is okay to be unplugged for awhile. I tried to create a balance with how connected to the outside world I should really be. I know it is important to avoid ignorance and stay up to date with politics and word news, however, when it comes to shallow social media, this is a great time to ignore it. Additionally, I emphasized the importance of doing activities outside as being in quarantine does not mean that you cannot leave your house. I also made points around staying connected with the people I am in quarantine with and not isolating myself to my room or what not. Balance is key in this time of stress with making sure to connect with others a healthy amount, while also finding no shame in being unplugged.
