When designing my concept board, I thought about things that I have been doing as well as things I think would be beneficial to society. The first thing I focused on was connections. With social distancing, we definitely have to think about making different kinds of connections. Some of these connections involve technology, with online classes and video chat, we have the opportunity to connect with pretty much whoever we want whenever we want. This makes being away from certain friends and family a lot more bearable, as well as makes finishing this semester of school possible.
Other types of connections I focused on were the ones that can be fostered at home. This includes spending more time with family (assuming they are not quarantining themselves) as well as pets. The combination of connections that can be made via technology as well as those at home make the idea of social distancing a little less agonizing.
I also thought of the idea of just being alone. Sometimes, being alone can be really good for us and relaxation during this time is very important. Being alone, and perhaps practicing some hobbies is a great use of all the time we are being given due to our circumstances. Spending time in nature is a great way people can get outside their homes and not go stir crazy.
Lastly, I thought about containing the virus. Obviously the various aspects of social distancing apply to this, but I also included staying hygienic as this is very important in not spreading the virus. I also included grocery delivery services because I think that any sort of delivery service that is limiting the amount of people going out into public is very effective and helps a lot with social distancing.
