For my concept board, I tried to organize it into 2 broad sections with “I can do it” in the middle to embody how I am motivated during this time rather than freaking out or checking out for the next 6-12 weeks. On the left half I aimed to embody productivity, focus, connectedness, and collaboration. On the right half I aimed to embody health, wellness, mindfulness, and relaxation. Bigger images I plan to do/work on/think about more than smaller images and overall, I wanted to promote the feeling of motivation.
They way I look at social distancing and quarantine is an opportunity to become my best self, academically and in my day-to-day lifestyle, so you can assume that I plan on being pretty busy for the next 6-12 weeks working on different aspects of my life. My dad (and Einstein apparently) both said that in times of crisis, theres an opportunity and its times like this where people grow and take advantage of this time to improve, and this is what I plan to do. I wanted to capture the essence of the things I am most motivated about during this time, such as doing well and school and living a healthy, active lifestyle. The audience’s eye should read from the middle, to the Einstein quote then around to the right from the personal wellness and health side, and follow to the left to the academic success side. I did it like this because I believe that, in this stressful and hectic time, focusing on mindfulness and personal wellness will translate to productivity in my academics. I also tried to use blue/ green colors and tones to keep the board vibrant, crisp, and active and help the visuals flow better into one another to capture the essence and concept of “motivation”.
